The IRS App

The IRS app (formerly IRS2Go) is the official mobile app of the IRS. Use it to check your refund status, make a payment and find useful tax information anytime, anywhere. It’s free and available in English and Spanish.

When you sign in

Sign in to your IRS account in the app to:

Payments

Pay a balance due or schedule a payment, and view your payment history.

Refunds and amended returns

Check the status of your refund or amended return — you can also do this without signing in.

Tax records

Access and download your transcripts and information return documents.

Notices and letters

Read the official notices the IRS has sent you about your taxes.

Your profile

Update your email address and bank account information.

No sign-in needed

Pay directly from your bank account for free, or by credit or debit card or digital wallet (processing fees apply).

Free filing options

Find IRS Free File, Free File Fillable Forms, and free tax help through VITA and the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program.

Tax information

Get links to popular IRS.gov topics, ways to contact the IRS, and the IRS’s social media accounts.
